Pros

Company car, salary, freedom sometimes, commission sometimes

Cons

To many meetings. Jobs take way to long to install and to get paid. Tesla and SolarCity merger is a mess to say the least and absolutely frustrating. Leads are terrible and a lot to time wasters. The way the system is set up, sets you up to fail. Especially with all the leads that don't close or never sit with affect you to as well as the houses that solar would never work on. Solar really doesn't save people money in Colorado and makes it a hard decision. THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOU, YOU'RE JUST ANOTHER NUMBER. You can not do to much to get premium leads or self generated because of Tesla's stupid policy's and worrying about their beloved brand. Their method is solar parties and its the only thing they know and most people don't want to do it. The company design software is annoying and all the different programs. Get ready for changes because they come quick, often and always with no warning. Power wall is overpriced takes forever to install. Often several cancels and people backing out expect atlas 25% of sales to not go through and to shoot higher than quota and then never get paid.

Pros

Just to quantify my review a bit, I am within the top 10% of inside sales reps within our 12,000 person company. It is a great place to work and people doing well ARE able to make good money here. The executive team ALWAYS has a platform for reps to help make SolarCity a better place every quarter. They involve the top 20 reps each quarter in various ways to help their peers through an interactive group called Team Elite. Executives, VP's, Directors, and Managers are always willing to help and go to bat when there are issues with things that need to be fixed. The direction of the company is consistent and although the company is large, decision makers work as hard as possible to steer the big ship quickly when necessary.

Cons

Knee jerk reactions with decision making at a director level create issues from time to time. Culture has had its ups and downs due to HUGE growth last year and subsequent high attrition rates.
