Pros

Young inspired team with some older folks to keep the lid screwed on. Elon Musk is a great leader for the company as are his cousins Lyndon and Peter Rives. It really is working for an industry visionary and it helps to be able to say you work for an Elon Musk company. Benefits are decent and work conditions are about what you find in any fast moving company now. Bummer I had to give up my old office. People have respect for the company in the industry and that is much better and easier than working for a company no one has heard about. We are changing the energy industry with new products and new technology. SolarCity leads. I think there are some good opportunities for growth in the company. There are some really smart people at the company and yet you don't have too many ego maniacs. That was the case at another large solar company I worked for.

Cons

The company is growing really fast which can cause you to lose your way, My sense is salaries are lower than other companies. It Is no longer a small company so you have the growth issues.

Pros

Just to quantify my review a bit, I am within the top 10% of inside sales reps within our 12,000 person company. It is a great place to work and people doing well ARE able to make good money here. The executive team ALWAYS has a platform for reps to help make SolarCity a better place every quarter. They involve the top 20 reps each quarter in various ways to help their peers through an interactive group called Team Elite. Executives, VP's, Directors, and Managers are always willing to help and go to bat when there are issues with things that need to be fixed. The direction of the company is consistent and although the company is large, decision makers work as hard as possible to steer the big ship quickly when necessary.

Cons

Knee jerk reactions with decision making at a director level create issues from time to time. Culture has had its ups and downs due to HUGE growth last year and subsequent high attrition rates.
