Pros

I was hired right out of school as a Field Energy Specialist (lead generation)....within 6 months I was promoted to Consultant. I never would have imagined that management could be so supportive. The higher ups devote large amounts of time to working with you to develop skills and answer questions. They take great pride in the amount of support they give their employees. If you want a lot of freedom, you are given it. If you need help or direction, they are more than happy to oblige. This job is absolutely fantastic for someone who hates the idea of sitting in a cubicle from 9-5. Company culture is great and the vast majority of employees are passionate, ambitious people who are an absolute pleasure to work with. I have already recommended this job to all my friends, several of whom are no coworkers!

Cons

The industry and company policies change frequently so it is not a job that you can necessarily get comfortable with. This job will keep you on your toes with minor frustrations in dealing with other departments (a side effect of our ridiculously fast growth).

Pros

Just to quantify my review a bit, I am within the top 10% of inside sales reps within our 12,000 person company. It is a great place to work and people doing well ARE able to make good money here. The executive team ALWAYS has a platform for reps to help make SolarCity a better place every quarter. They involve the top 20 reps each quarter in various ways to help their peers through an interactive group called Team Elite. Executives, VP's, Directors, and Managers are always willing to help and go to bat when there are issues with things that need to be fixed. The direction of the company is consistent and although the company is large, decision makers work as hard as possible to steer the big ship quickly when necessary.

Cons

Knee jerk reactions with decision making at a director level create issues from time to time. Culture has had its ups and downs due to HUGE growth last year and subsequent high attrition rates.
