Pros
You're literally saving the world. At the end of the day, you've done good, which feels good. There are a lot of smart, fun people in the ranks. The leaders are tremendously enthusiastic. Many of the middle mgmt roles were filled by internal promotions.
Cons
The company leverages it's "feel good" capital instead of financial capital. Changes happen quickly and are often done without much explanation. I've seen a lot of high-performers be let go when they were put into near-impossible situations, and failed. It fosters a sense of avoiding any risks, which limits innovation. The food wasn't very good in the cafeteria, which is petty, but relevant in the Valley. High turnover. Very few executive roles are filled from internal promotions.
