TLDR - It's taken a turn for the worse - almost like watching a car crash every single day.
Office environment - Uninspiring, boring and hostile on most days. No real effort to foster collaboration. Employees are on edge all the time owing the constant layoffs leading to no participation in office activities.
Senior Management and staff at large -Communication within the organisation is inconsistent with important updates getting lost in the shuffle. Senior level executives with 10+ years of tenure have left the company. Everyone's faith in the company is dwindling.
People Team - Abomination of a team that's meant to help people. Referencing the meme (ask for help, but what you get is a yoga class, iykyk).
Immediate managers - Classic SolarWinds style is to change teams and reporting structures every three months. In only 18 months I had to report to six different managers, twice to VP level execs because there was nobody in between.
Overall culture - The company culture purported to be inclusive and diverse, but in reality, it was quite the opposite. There were instances of discriminatory behavior that went unaddressed, creating a toxic atmosphere for employees from diverse backgrounds (exhibit - not hiring employees who need work permits, not accepting internal referrals, hiring employees who are only based in office locations - not giving a chance to someone who might be willing to relocate)
The bottomline? There will always be problems and there's no perfect workplace but there's surely one better than this.
