Pros

Salary is paid on time, no bounced paychecks so far.

Cons

Vista equity is in charge, the old CEO is gone, the new CEO lasted 5 months, the current temporary CEO is a Vista puppet. As a staff member I have never seen his face as he doesn't engage at all with staff and appears mostly do and say the pre-prepared statements Vista tells him say. Mandatory IQ and personality tests forced on existing long term staff. These have nothing to do with the job they are doing. Who know what they are for? Perhaps they should judge people based on their performance in the job they are doing rather than some unrelated IQ / personality metric. My take is that they don't know how to judge technical ability. Cost-cutting is the number one priority for them, there is no regard for staff, staff are encouraged to leave and hiring is frozen so staff are not replaced. Engineering direction is confused, they will deploy platforms, then turn around after only two years and replace them as the licensing cost is too high. Surely they can see that two years before. I guess the budget is changing so rapidly in the down direction that no-one can predict it. Staff turnover in engineering is insane, support for platforms is limited due to lack of staff and obtaining vendor support is difficult as the company doesn't want to spend the money to get support. International travel is severely restricted leading to lack of connection between offices and all offices are on the offensive to each other to look after themselves as survival is the most important thing due to the multiple office closures that are happening. No pay rises are given, morale is terrible, HR policies are draconian and will punish people. The management don't know how to manage such a company or what makes real productivity so they attempt to measure everything via arbitrary metrics on dashboards, the metrics don't make sense and the rules to make the numbers look good don't result in increased productivity just wasted time. At the lowest level time is wasted just fiddling or doing things a specific way to game the metrics, it is demotivating and doesn't allow flexibility in teams. The metrics are used to compare between teams so you have to game the numbers to make them look good. Transparency is low so staff have no idea what the actual performance of the company is. Perhaps this cost-cutting is due to a massive slump in customers / profits? Or Vista attempting to make the balance sheet look good for a sale? as staff we will never know.

Pros

None that I can think of.

Cons

The company has significant issues that make it difficult to recommend as a long-term workplace. HR support is virtually non-existent, leaving employees without meaningful assistance when concerns arise. Favoritism appears to influence decisions more than performance or merit, creating an unfair work environment. There are very few opportunities for career growth, and many employees find themselves in stagnant roles with little chance for advancement. Even when employees consistently exceed expectations and earn recognition, raises are infrequent or nonexistent, making it difficult to feel valued for hard work. Additionally, there is a noticeable lack of professionalism at the management level. Communication, accountability, and leadership standards need significant improvement. Overall, the company would benefit from investing in stronger leadership, a more effective HR department, and a culture that rewards performance fairly.
