Pros
It's a nice place to work with some good people, and people are generally treated very fairly. Employees are rarely asked to go beyond their contracted hours, ensuring that you can leave at 5:30. The systems and tools are good, and Sophos have invested a lot of money in getting some good software in. The bonus has paid at 10% for the past couple of years, and the company continues to do fairly well, making the average salary a lot better. Generally, not a lot of pressure, and managers respect their teams, and communication is frequent and is well presented.
Cons
Soooooo slow in doing stuff. Why? The projects last for months and months and months, and change happens so much! Just make a decision and stick to it. Also, the benefits package is "average" at best. The pension scheme is not great, and because they are a private company, the option packages don't have much worth at the moment. Not always a huge amount of opportunity to progress. People get promoted, but the structure is fairly static. For a big company doing *really* well, it doesn't feel like you are working for a successful company. They are a bit tight in that respect.
