Pros
What I liked about working at Sound was the interactions with members. Angry, rude, unpleasant members were honestly few and far between (and I worked at upwards of 6 different branches). I had countless repeat members who I knew on a personal basis just from working at a few of the branches- with whom I had great relationships with when they came into the credit union. PTO and 401k match are nice. Competitive rates.
Cons
I cannot speak with the same satisfaction about fellow employees and mostly management as I do of members. Management turns a blind eye to problems and favors employees they know and like personally. As a previous employee review stated, it's all about the cliques. If you're not willing to "pal around", then you are punished or thought of poorly. God forbid anyone be professional and treat this like a job, not a hangout session. I had serious complaints which I took up with executive management and nothing was ever done about it (and when I say serious, I mean against the law serious). I guess you're either in or they don't like you and you're out- regardless of how well you do your job (I treated the members the best and was one of the most proficient/efficient at my job, but I guess that made no difference to them because they didn't "like" me... for God only knows why). My experience working at Sound was all around BAD because of this environment I had to work in every day- one where it was known I was not liked (again, God knows why) and was not listened to despite having very serious issues/concerns regarding fellow employees. The pay is not adequate/comparable to other credit unions/banks.
