Pros

Started working here before the pandemic, but when the pandemic hit they made arrangements to allow staff to work from home and tried to be as flexible with scheduling as possible knowing people had different home demands on them during the pandemic as well. Has great health and leave benefits, a lot of paid holidays, half days on Fridays, staff training opportunities. They've also added additional benefits just in the few years I've been here to try to provide staff with more. They also try to give incentive bonuses each year, which is not something I've had at other jobs.

Cons

Its a non-profit so they can't pay as much as private sector, but they really do seem to care about staff and try to provide as many benefits as possible.

Pros

Easiest job you'll ever have because there aren't much to the standards

Cons

Cronyism, Nepotism, NIMBY elitist, questionable business practices with government agency in Richmond regarding bids, & grant funds management. Openly gossipy, cliquish, & an active hostile work environment enabled & allowed by senior staff, the CEO, & the entire finance department, poor accounting practices, antiquated processes, selective reporting, & in general, everything bad about a non-profit anyone has ever assumed that has been doing less with more for decades, by choice, to keep the funder happy, & open to such extortion with no qualms.
