Pros
Stable company (rare are layoffs), excellent benefits, great pay for administrative work, big company with many opportunities. The current group I work in is pretty casual especially regarding dress. Thankfully current boss is really cool and my job has gotten alot more interesting thanks to implementation of the new companywide system. Public transportation reimbursements including shuttles to Metro stations. Management emphasis on ethics and diversity. Profit participation.
Cons
Big company that's too corporate. Needs new leaders and manager who inspire and motivate workplace. There's too much dead weight in the company meaning folks who usually been with company for a while are paid lotsa money for doing hardly anything, they're mostly there to clock in/out for paycheck. But management would rather have the bodies just in case than get rid of unproductive positions all together. Depending on your particular department, your work location can change like the IT folks in Rosemead who got moved to Irwindale. Too much training like the 4-hour long diversity training that seemed pretty useless. Too many un-necessary meetings, seems like a managers time is spent mostly in unproductive meetings. When the new system went live in July, it was obvious many issues should have been addressed and resolved before implementation. Six months after, management is still dealing with issues and processes that for some reason were never figured out beforehand. Not enough people rank and file were involved before new system implementation.
