Pros

This company truly believes in investing in their employees. Whether paying for your education about life insurance (through LOMA) or even assisting with your continued education. They even have a whole department dedicated to helping you learn as much as possible to help you advance in your career. One of the first things you will hear about is free parking (which is nice for Jackson), but with all jokes aside the company offers great perks which don't require you to leave the company. For example, they have an on site fitness room, walking trail, cafeteria, and even an on-site clinic. The on site clinic is free for those who opt into the health insurance at the farm! Another great thing about working at the farm is you don't have to be a manager to make manager pay. You can move up in your current position which allows you to specialize in what you love without having to become a manager. This means that you don't have to manage people to make good pay, you can just focus on what you love doing.

Cons

One of the bigger downsides to the farm, is people don't like to leave. This means that if you want to manage people, you are really going to have to dig in hard and set yourself apart from others. However, if you are not interested in managing, this should not be a big deal. Another downside is that this is a very conservative company, and they do not move fast on change. They just implemented what is called "Farm Fridays" which is where you can wear bluejeans with an approved shirt (kind of like casual Friday). This is great! But other companies have been doing this for years. Again, the farm doesn't move fast on change; however, there has been a big push on what the younger generation wants from their workplace, so their is hope. LOMA is both a strength and a weakness. I personally believe learning about the company's line of work is important, but at what point does it overshadow a person's job? For example, in Application's Development, is it more important to be certified in retirement securities or more important for me to be certified in my line of work?
