Pros

work for one of the only companies actively building a mars vehicle and is the farthest along with that. free soda and ice cream if you want to call that a pro......... lots of overtime...........

Cons

horrible management. very long hours. employees are obviously viewed as very expendable Work Orders are horribly written, they are extremely vague and its very apparent that engineers copy and pasted the work instructions this is even on work instructions for flight hardware not developmental. the are told to carry out this sketchy practice because it saves time and better enables them to be less liable if something messes up. you can call the engineers out on this but they have immunity to any repercussions of their mistakes as far as the Work instructions they write goes. you can ask to go to a different dept if you dont wish to work there and you may very well be granted your request if you are a good technician but engineers are very often not held accountable for their mistakes with the Work Orders or instructions and will pin it on techs if they can in some departments non the less. very poor tool control, if the cant find a tool or supplies they need even though theyve already ordered it they just order more. i cant believe they havent killed anyone yet with all the misshaps that happen so often. the rating on here is not at all accurate. spacex tells its employees to get on here and post good reviews, so the data is obviously very inflated.

Pros

* **Unmatched Mission & Impact:** You are literally working on rockets and spacecraft. The cool factor is 10/10. * **Brilliant Coworkers:** You will be surrounded by some of the smartest, most driven engineers in the world. * **Insane Career Growth:** SpaceX on your resume is a golden ticket. You will learn more here in 3 months than in 3 years at a normal company. * **Hands-on Experience:** They actually trust interns with real, critical hardware. No boring coffee-fetching tasks.

Cons

**Cons:** * **Zero Work-Life Balance:** 70-80 hours a week is the norm, not the exception. Say goodbye to your social life and sleep. * **Extreme Burnout:** The "hustle culture" is toxic. You are expected to treat the company as your entire life. * **Mediocre Pay:** The hourly pay is average, especially when you factor in the insane hours and the high cost of living in LA/Hawthorne. * **Chaotic Management:** Decisions can change overnight based on whatever Elon Musk tweets or feels like doing that morning.
