My team is extremely professional, competent, and kind, and look out for each other. We are not a complete anomaly within the company, and this has allowed our team to be extremely successful. There is a broad department-to-department spread in people's experience of the company. We get stuff done in an incredible way. Fast paced, productive, and meaningful. It can be very rewarding to work at SpaceX.
Cons
Horrifying behavior from Elon, which is constantly being rationalized by HR/execs. Constant distraction from important work on hand. Leads to a culture of impunity when it comes to certain departments or teams. Not great for rocket production. Absurd/toxic work hours are expected of some teams, with a "do more with less" attitude that is NOT conducive to long-term success.
