Pros

SparkPost has some great partners and some decent products. 4 different solutions to sell Email Sending, Inbox Tracker, Competitive Tracker, Taxi for Email. Day to day is chill and not too much stress on quotas. Decent benefits and fully remote opportunity

Cons

*Please read if you’re looking to be an SDR here* Outbound here is EXTREMELY EXTREMELY hard which is why SDR managers at SprkPost only last a few months (5 SDR managers in the past 2 years). As a team of 6 SDR’s we were lucky to get 1 Outbound meeting per month, combined. While the company does have huge logos/customers it’s literally like finding a needle in the haystack at this point. The market is saturated with Email Service Providers and quite frankly SparkPost is fighting an uphill battle against them. Sparkpost only has a backend solution, you’re better off working for a company with a front end (10x more desirable in the marketplace and much easier to book outbound meetings). Lastly after speaking with the SDR’s and AE’s at SparkPost, many of them were stuck in their roles for years. When I was there, there had only been 1 promotion from SDR to AE in 3 YEARS! - Yikes

Pros

Many years I have worked in this industry and the terms CTO and CIO have never meant anything other than "a person that managers technical directors". In this company, not only are C-level executives programmers but so are many of the Managers and Directors. Got a code or product question? Post it on the intranet and anyone from an Engineer to the CEO could reply (without the "you didn't know that?" attitude). Compassion for a true work-life balance, working with teams that I can learn from and assist new people during their onboarding, it all comes full circle here. Health care costs rose and the CEO deflected the cost for us. Many other mini-perks too, but the best is being part of the fastest growing technology that reaches people daily. Have something you think may improve the product? Recommend it. Your idea may be rolled in to the next release. Thinking outside the box is a desirable trait. I would recommend working here and more importantly, when people ask if I would recommend them for a job here, I think twice whether they would be a good fit. People here are that awesome.

Cons

With so many teams working very hard, getting together for cross-training is difficult. Enhance skills of current employees not only with external training, but internal cross-training.
