Pros

there are some really great people working there- unfortunately none of them are running the place. the pay was good for an entry level job. and i hear they dont do drug testing as part of the hiring process anymore- otherwise nobody would work there.

Cons

-verbally abusive deli manager -every older male coworker was a creep -produce assistant manager harassed female employees with sexually explicit language, but half of them are into it and vouch for him so he never gets in trouble -most employees were either racist, sexist, homophobic or a combination of all 3 -i overheard a lot of hateful speech about trans people and black people especially -gossip in general, theres a lot of drama. -a manager in the last year was convicted for raping at least one employee (around when i decided to leave) -a manager in the last year was fired for using racial slurs -dept. managers could (and do) write comments in the iSolved online employee file about behavioral issues/incidents without requiring signatures from the employee in question or a store manager- meaning, they could make up whatever they want and use it as evidence against you. these comments are not visible to employees, so you couldnt dispute them

Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback as it only helps us to improve the team member experience. We're very sorry you had this experience with us. The safety and comfort of our team members are a top priority. We have a zero tolerance policy for sexual harassment, bullying, and racial comments here and actively investigate all claims brought to our attention. We take swift action to keep our team member’s work environment safe. To help people feel comfortable in reporting those instances, we have an open door policy that includes all our management team members as well as our owners Tim and Kevin Metcalfe if you feel your concerns are not being heard or need options for reporting. We also have an HR Support line as an additional option for these types of concerns to be reported- because everyone should feel comfortable while working here- no exceptions. We're very proud of the diverse team that we have in our stores and work hard to ensure they feel comfortable. Our corrective action process is designed to help team members achieve success and does require a sit down with Store Management, the team member, HR and a signed document as evidence of the conversation. I invite you to connect with us to elaborate on these concerns and your suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated. Please connect with me directly at Amanda.m@shopmetcalfes.com or our HR Support Line 563-578-2503
