Review: Spectrum Door-to-Door Sales – Worst Job Ever If you’re considering a door-to-door sales job at Spectrum, don’t do it. It’s easily one of the worst jobs you can take. Here’s why: 1. False Promises on Pay – They tell you that you can make six figures, but that’s simply not true. For the first six months, they give you a “ramp” paycheck because they know most people won’t make enough on commission. Once that stops, people quit because making a sustainable income is nearly impossible. 2. Brutal Work Conditions – You’re required to knock on doors all day, no matter the weather—rain, snow, extreme heat—it doesn’t matter. You’re expected to push through, even if nobody wants to talk to you. 3. No Real Support from Management – Managers are there to “motivate” you, but they don’t actually go out with you. They just push corporate’s agenda and blame you when things don’t go well. If you’re struggling, it’s always your fault, never the company’s. 4. Terrible Territories & Tough Competition – The areas they assign are already oversaturated, and competitors offer much better deals. But instead of acknowledging this, Spectrum makes it seem like you’re the problem. 5. High Turnover & No Job Security – Because the job is so difficult and the pay is inconsistent, people quit all the time. The company doesn’t care—they just keep hiring new people to replace those who leave. I once worked a full day, from 8 AM to 5 PM, with a manager, and closed nothing—not a single sale. That’s how bad the job is. Whatever they tell you in the interview is a complete lie. Avoid this job at all costs. Would I recommend working at Spectrum as a door-to-door salesperson? Absolutely not

Pros

I have been with Spectrum for 7 years now. If you have a good work ethic, Spectrum hands down is the place to work. I've had 2 kids since starting with them, their benefits are amazing, good pay, and I cannot say enough of how fortunate I have been since starting with them.

Cons

They are a corporation. If you understand that, then there aren't any major cons
