In my experience the culture is toxic, despite leadership regularly speaking about the advantage of a 4:1 policy leading to good culture. It is also stagnant as promotions were heavily limited and sparse during my time there, so there is little opportunity for growth and meaningful reward for high performance. I also found it to be overly political and bureaucratic anytime cross-team collaboration was necessary, especially between business units - resources were often limited and shared which made it incredibly challenging for teams to have stable and manageable road maps. I often felt that executive priorities overrode planned efforts which changed project scope unexpectedly. In my scope of the company, escalations to management or HR were incredibly common which gradually eroded any trust I had with my collaborators and my general sense of psychological safety. Finally because of the 4:1 in office attendance policy and continued scrutiny over productivity metrics, there is limited flexibility for genuine work life balance and there seems to be an emphasis of getting work done ASAP and appearing busy versus doing high quality work while following lean processes.
