Pros

It was a fun, fast paced environment. The clients are the most enjoyable part of the job.

Cons

I was recently terminated from Sports Clips after requesting time off for Thanksgiving six weeks in advance, with full communication that I would be out of town with family. Despite this, I was still scheduled for shifts on days my manager knew I would be unavailable, creating a preventable and unnecessary situation. There were no prior warnings, write-ups, or documented performance concerns leading up to my termination. I believe this reflects a serious lack of leadership, fair scheduling practices, and respect for employee communication. A workplace should not punish staff for planning ahead or prioritizing family when notice is given well in advance. I sincerely hope this location reevaluates how it supports and schedules its team. It's no wonder why this location struggles to get and maintain staff. This post serves as a warning. Employees and clients alike deserve better.

Pros

Health Insurance and 401k definitely help. A lot of hairdressers are moms and some of them single moms, so these benefits help a lot! My team leader and area manager are amazing at helping and keeping me feeling good about how I'm doing.

Cons

none, I have to say, if you're willing to work and make something of yourself and want to work for a great company that will recognize that. This is the place to be!

Pros

No pros beside it being a paycheck

Cons

Wasn’t allowed to have colored hair as a stylist, franchise owners in Arizona push their conservative beliefs on employees, didn’t even allow facial piercings, as time goes by and I’m working at an amazing salon and being treated for what I’m worth, being valued and paid an actual living wage, being allowed to express my individuality, being able to finally find somewhere where I’ve been able to blossom in my 8 years of hairdressing, I’m realizing just how awfully sport clips treats their employees, absolute joke of a wage for the productivity, work, and hours they expect, started here fresh out of beauty school and was constantly undermined, a lot of workplace bullying, favoritism, outcasting stylists that didn’t fit the perfect Sportclips “ideal.” Unless you want to be a slave to Sportclips, and constantly told cut faster cut faster sell more sell more and creating an uncomfortable experience for the stylist and client, making it feel like a sales job, it’s such an outdated way to operate, to hit numbers for the commission you’d have to sell like a car seller and do 10-15 minute haircuts for hours on end. don’t work here. Not to mention the average tip clients leave is 5-7 while you get a minimum wage hourly. Just a spit in the face.
