Pros

Great team! I own 3 locations of sport clips in Salt Lake City and I have to say that the people who work for this company are what make it amazing. The Stylists have a commitment to being the best. They are so amazing at their craft and they want to keep growing in their skill. My respect for cosmology and barbering grow daily in my interaction with this group. They are so committed to their clients and to their fellow team members. It is inspiring. The other owners in the area are amazing too. We have found so much support, collaboration and sharing of best practices. The support staff from corporate, the coaches, the area developer, the training that sport clips provides is what makes all of our jobs so much easier. I have to say that it is a huge advantage to have Sport Clips supporting you. They are interested in our success not just what they can get from us. They provide training for the stylists to keep current in trends, increase their skill in men’s technique, clippers and product knowledge. They provide management training, business training and support. 3 locations in Salt Lake City: Sport Clips 4th south Sport Clips 18th South Sport Clips Sugar House

Cons

I never thought I would own a franchise. I love supporting local businesses. It is important to me. My husband and I grew up in Salt Lake City and so that’s where our business are. We are local owners who care about the community.

Pros

Health Insurance and 401k definitely help. A lot of hairdressers are moms and some of them single moms, so these benefits help a lot! My team leader and area manager are amazing at helping and keeping me feeling good about how I'm doing.

Cons

none, I have to say, if you're willing to work and make something of yourself and want to work for a great company that will recognize that. This is the place to be!

Pros

No pros beside it being a paycheck

Cons

Wasn’t allowed to have colored hair as a stylist, franchise owners in Arizona push their conservative beliefs on employees, didn’t even allow facial piercings, as time goes by and I’m working at an amazing salon and being treated for what I’m worth, being valued and paid an actual living wage, being allowed to express my individuality, being able to finally find somewhere where I’ve been able to blossom in my 8 years of hairdressing, I’m realizing just how awfully sport clips treats their employees, absolute joke of a wage for the productivity, work, and hours they expect, started here fresh out of beauty school and was constantly undermined, a lot of workplace bullying, favoritism, outcasting stylists that didn’t fit the perfect Sportclips “ideal.” Unless you want to be a slave to Sportclips, and constantly told cut faster cut faster sell more sell more and creating an uncomfortable experience for the stylist and client, making it feel like a sales job, it’s such an outdated way to operate, to hit numbers for the commission you’d have to sell like a car seller and do 10-15 minute haircuts for hours on end. don’t work here. Not to mention the average tip clients leave is 5-7 while you get a minimum wage hourly. Just a spit in the face.
