Pros

If you want to get your feet wet, learn how to cut hair and be able to make mistakes, start here. However do NOT end your career here. Move on, be successful and have a life all at the same time. You are worth so much more than what they tell you, you are. Be creative and fun! Love your passion! Don't let Sport Clips take that from you. They almost did it to me.

Cons

I have been with this company for 4 years. You have these so called “values” that are NEVER followed by Team Leaders, Area Managers and Coaches. You work your employees like we are your slaves and “own” us and you take most of our money. How dare you claim to be such an amazing company. If you claim for that to not be your fault, then you need to keep a eye on how your franchises operate things. That is just in normal times. Now that we have had Covid-19 interrupt our lives. YOU STILL WORK US LIKE DOGS! We are open SEVEN DAYS, working EIGHT HOURS and don’t even have SIX STYLIST yet you cant seem to let your greed go and allow us to have a set 2 days off and not work long shifts every time we are in the stores. Do you realize that the more a stylist works, the more tired they get. Therefore our immune systems lower, our bodies start to get sick on their own and we are more susceptible to getting sick or COVID-19. Do you care about me? Answer: NO! Are you treating us the way we want to be treated? Answer: NO? Can we trust you? Answer: No, that is laughable. Contrary to your beliefs, 90% of clients will follow a good stylist once they find one, they wont stay with your “brand”. You make stylist feel as if they NEED you and we don’t. We are the artist, we make your money. We are the ones building relationships with our clients and our team members. I know that you wont fix this. I hope and pray that this franchise blows up in your face. Thank you for teaching me what not to do. I will turn in my notice. I rather be broke than work for this company ever again.

Pros

Health Insurance and 401k definitely help. A lot of hairdressers are moms and some of them single moms, so these benefits help a lot! My team leader and area manager are amazing at helping and keeping me feeling good about how I'm doing.

Cons

none, I have to say, if you're willing to work and make something of yourself and want to work for a great company that will recognize that. This is the place to be!

Pros

No pros beside it being a paycheck

Cons

Wasn’t allowed to have colored hair as a stylist, franchise owners in Arizona push their conservative beliefs on employees, didn’t even allow facial piercings, as time goes by and I’m working at an amazing salon and being treated for what I’m worth, being valued and paid an actual living wage, being allowed to express my individuality, being able to finally find somewhere where I’ve been able to blossom in my 8 years of hairdressing, I’m realizing just how awfully sport clips treats their employees, absolute joke of a wage for the productivity, work, and hours they expect, started here fresh out of beauty school and was constantly undermined, a lot of workplace bullying, favoritism, outcasting stylists that didn’t fit the perfect Sportclips “ideal.” Unless you want to be a slave to Sportclips, and constantly told cut faster cut faster sell more sell more and creating an uncomfortable experience for the stylist and client, making it feel like a sales job, it’s such an outdated way to operate, to hit numbers for the commission you’d have to sell like a car seller and do 10-15 minute haircuts for hours on end. don’t work here. Not to mention the average tip clients leave is 5-7 while you get a minimum wage hourly. Just a spit in the face.
