Pros

The job is simple to do when you get into the groove of things, although it can be repetitive it really is a fun and easy job. Also a great job if you are in school. The pay is good when you hit the commissions and like all jobs with the right mix of a Team you can really get that family feel from this Company. There are plenty of training classes for Men's Cuts so learning and growing is always a possibility. Their is always opportunity to move up in the company but feels like Store Manager is the ceiling. There is a lot of structure in this Company but I think it is very beneficial in the long run.

Cons

With the commissions it can feel like force selling at times, very repetitive (nice if you just want a simple job), favoritism is real but very common in this general Industry (have a tough skin an push forward and you'll be fine)

Thank you for your review and time at Sport Clips. I am sorry if you felt pushed or forced to sell product. We do encourage you educate the client on the products used as part of the experience. You should never be disingenuous or pushy. It can take time to build that skill and feel comfortable, like anything new or something outside of one's comfort zone. Everything we do at Sport Clips is to benefit the client experience and help the team member be successful. I do appreciate you giving us a try and hope you will consider us in the future!

Pros

Health Insurance and 401k definitely help. A lot of hairdressers are moms and some of them single moms, so these benefits help a lot! My team leader and area manager are amazing at helping and keeping me feeling good about how I'm doing.

Cons

none, I have to say, if you're willing to work and make something of yourself and want to work for a great company that will recognize that. This is the place to be!

Pros

No pros beside it being a paycheck

Cons

Wasn’t allowed to have colored hair as a stylist, franchise owners in Arizona push their conservative beliefs on employees, didn’t even allow facial piercings, as time goes by and I’m working at an amazing salon and being treated for what I’m worth, being valued and paid an actual living wage, being allowed to express my individuality, being able to finally find somewhere where I’ve been able to blossom in my 8 years of hairdressing, I’m realizing just how awfully sport clips treats their employees, absolute joke of a wage for the productivity, work, and hours they expect, started here fresh out of beauty school and was constantly undermined, a lot of workplace bullying, favoritism, outcasting stylists that didn’t fit the perfect Sportclips “ideal.” Unless you want to be a slave to Sportclips, and constantly told cut faster cut faster sell more sell more and creating an uncomfortable experience for the stylist and client, making it feel like a sales job, it’s such an outdated way to operate, to hit numbers for the commission you’d have to sell like a car seller and do 10-15 minute haircuts for hours on end. don’t work here. Not to mention the average tip clients leave is 5-7 while you get a minimum wage hourly. Just a spit in the face.
