Pros

Great place to learn about business and the craft. Paid training is offered which is a plus and they do a great job of helping to establish a foundation for their team members to build upon. I do believe they do their best to set their employees up for success with their onboarding. Benefits are above par for the industry. Made lifelong friends along the way. Established a fantastic clientele. Had opportunities to grow within the company. The environment can be fun and incentives are sometimes offered and recognized for excellent performance, which I enjoyed. Pay was good. The company is values-based and that made a deep impact on me that I will carry that with me forever. Truly loved a lot of the people I met, worked with, developed and learned from along the way. Grateful for what I gained during my time there. I'd recommend to those that are new to the industry or that I know are cut out for the work.

Cons

A common struggle is not having enough team members and the team members they do have, in turn, get burnt out. It is a very structured environment which can be a con for those that don't function well in that type of organization. Shifts can be long, and in a busy store where there's no coordinator (receptionist) to assist with all of the tasks that take place before, in between, and after clients, a long shift becomes EXTREMELY LONG and then you repeat it over and over. It's hard to find balance.

Pros

Health Insurance and 401k definitely help. A lot of hairdressers are moms and some of them single moms, so these benefits help a lot! My team leader and area manager are amazing at helping and keeping me feeling good about how I'm doing.

Cons

none, I have to say, if you're willing to work and make something of yourself and want to work for a great company that will recognize that. This is the place to be!

Pros

No pros beside it being a paycheck

Cons

Wasn’t allowed to have colored hair as a stylist, franchise owners in Arizona push their conservative beliefs on employees, didn’t even allow facial piercings, as time goes by and I’m working at an amazing salon and being treated for what I’m worth, being valued and paid an actual living wage, being allowed to express my individuality, being able to finally find somewhere where I’ve been able to blossom in my 8 years of hairdressing, I’m realizing just how awfully sport clips treats their employees, absolute joke of a wage for the productivity, work, and hours they expect, started here fresh out of beauty school and was constantly undermined, a lot of workplace bullying, favoritism, outcasting stylists that didn’t fit the perfect Sportclips “ideal.” Unless you want to be a slave to Sportclips, and constantly told cut faster cut faster sell more sell more and creating an uncomfortable experience for the stylist and client, making it feel like a sales job, it’s such an outdated way to operate, to hit numbers for the commission you’d have to sell like a car seller and do 10-15 minute haircuts for hours on end. don’t work here. Not to mention the average tip clients leave is 5-7 while you get a minimum wage hourly. Just a spit in the face.
