Pros

The clientele are spectacular. The pay is alright and bit above other franchises yet what is expected from you is unreasonable. It’s not worth the amount of expectations that are expected from you.

Cons

Keeping track of your hours and tips to ensure your not getting shorted as they will carelessly ensure you are compensated for your work. Incredibly disorganized. Lacking structure. Put unreasonable expectations on you and expect you to fulfill them without any question. Will not care for you as a human being your just a replaceable machine to perform as a means to a end. Lots of manipulating tactics played by new upper management. Lots of turn over. Short staffing where inevitable consequences for these things that employees leave and you are expected to carry a ridiculous load on your own to make up for it. No compensation for this or help as your manipulated into doing it and figuring it out for yourself. You will not receive breaks at all. Clocked out by manager for even using the bathroom without your knowledge. Bring it up and you will be passive aggressive punishment for even communicating. You have to show up early for your shift where they refuse to schedule you for appropriately and work well past your schedule shift rushing each client as quickly as possible the entire time. You will be reprimanded for indirectly for following sanitary protocol, using the restroom, washing your hands from product to take the next client etc. it’s a failing place from the inside out that will result in your own demise along with it. They do not look at what they do wrong in anyway as it’s always the external and not those responsible for managing the place correctly.

Pros

Health Insurance and 401k definitely help. A lot of hairdressers are moms and some of them single moms, so these benefits help a lot! My team leader and area manager are amazing at helping and keeping me feeling good about how I'm doing.

Cons

none, I have to say, if you're willing to work and make something of yourself and want to work for a great company that will recognize that. This is the place to be!

Pros

No pros beside it being a paycheck

Cons

Wasn’t allowed to have colored hair as a stylist, franchise owners in Arizona push their conservative beliefs on employees, didn’t even allow facial piercings, as time goes by and I’m working at an amazing salon and being treated for what I’m worth, being valued and paid an actual living wage, being allowed to express my individuality, being able to finally find somewhere where I’ve been able to blossom in my 8 years of hairdressing, I’m realizing just how awfully sport clips treats their employees, absolute joke of a wage for the productivity, work, and hours they expect, started here fresh out of beauty school and was constantly undermined, a lot of workplace bullying, favoritism, outcasting stylists that didn’t fit the perfect Sportclips “ideal.” Unless you want to be a slave to Sportclips, and constantly told cut faster cut faster sell more sell more and creating an uncomfortable experience for the stylist and client, making it feel like a sales job, it’s such an outdated way to operate, to hit numbers for the commission you’d have to sell like a car seller and do 10-15 minute haircuts for hours on end. don’t work here. Not to mention the average tip clients leave is 5-7 while you get a minimum wage hourly. Just a spit in the face.
