Pros
The only pros are the fun work perks/benefits like free concerts and get togethers.
Cons
If you land in the experience mission, you are better off somewhere else or honestly just leaving Spotify all together. That place is like a cult and they are not welcoming and do not know how to nurture new talent. Some of the designers who have been there the longest do have horrible decision making skills and the design managers and design directors are super bad at managing and caring for all types of design talent outside the ones that have been there the longest. They are the least fun people and I now understand why Spotify has been getting worse. The favoritism there is off the charts and because of that, they don’t allow new talent to grow and flourish above their ranks. The Spotify development plan has to be the most absolute gatekeeping thing and preventative growth I have ever seen. To get to the next level, you have to be working at that level but the pay does not reflect that and you can be doing the most at the next level and it will still never be enough because it’s a tool designed to hold new talent back. The experience mission is such a horrible place to be a designer and such a pathetic group of people that smile to your face only to really just keep you down. Spotify can’t even keep new talent for two years not because they encourage people to go else where, it’s because it’s a horrible place to work!!!
