Pros

Learning manufacturing skills that might help you in the future working with team members who also want to succeed learning skills from long term employees can be enriching

Cons

management does not always hire help when it is desperately needed you will have multiple jobs in your department with high expectations and no back up the new hires are made to pick up slack for team members who have been with the company a long time and can no longer handle their job due to age or physical restrictions you will have team members who bring morale down and gossip is tolerated. new hires are expected to take online classes to educate themselves about manufacturing. You have to do these classes on your own time, you are not compensated and you will not receive raises until these are complete. you have to have a predetermined amount of hours on the job before receiving raises some managers run multiple departments and leave other team members in charge. This causes a lot of problems.

Pros

- Lax, Chill Workload (Mostly) - Employees have high and long tenure here - Most of the company goes home around 4PM. - Job security for this industry is good: nobody is gonna stop buying spray nozzles anytime soon.

Cons

- Not the place for fast, innovative work. - Really slow to get things done and managers are old-fashioned and by-the-book. - Pay is pretty lousy for this industry. - Promotions are hard to come by, due to the "flat" organization this company promotes. - Management is stubborn prefers to take the cheap route vs the correct route. (They are known for hiring contractors before hiring fulltime (most of the employees), but also some contractors continue to never be hired on full-time) - Company outings are really meh.
