Pros

-Fluid Air is a great group of people -Interesting projects -Promising technology -Fruit and nuts for the holidays

Cons

-Flat organization with limited opportunities for advancement -Oppressive environment full of infighting and blame games -Chronically under-resourced -Asked to do more with less, ship before ready, work in substandard conditions, etc -High turnover -Start as contractor, typically promised conversion to permanent after 6 months, but often delayed for years -Converting to permanent requires 3+ month probationary period with no benefits -Hiring model makes it difficult to recruit talented personnel -Contract time does not count towards most time-based benefits once permanent (e.g. number of vacation days) -Profit-based benefits touted, but Fluid Air is not expecting to be profitable for many years -Despite selling products with high margins, profits are “invested” in the rapid expansion process instead of in employees -Shadow HR (not recognized by corporate) attempts to handle matters off the radar -Benefits not great

Pros

- Lax, Chill Workload (Mostly) - Employees have high and long tenure here - Most of the company goes home around 4PM. - Job security for this industry is good: nobody is gonna stop buying spray nozzles anytime soon.

Cons

- Not the place for fast, innovative work. - Really slow to get things done and managers are old-fashioned and by-the-book. - Pay is pretty lousy for this industry. - Promotions are hard to come by, due to the "flat" organization this company promotes. - Management is stubborn prefers to take the cheap route vs the correct route. (They are known for hiring contractors before hiring fulltime (most of the employees), but also some contractors continue to never be hired on full-time) - Company outings are really meh.
