Pros

Very caring community with firmly Christian values. Lovely co-workers. Beautiful campus. Conscientious managers for the most part. At least in my department, good work-life balance. Decent healthcare and vacation benefits, although not as good as some academic institutions (or so I've been informed by my co-workers). Good place to hone skills in an entry-level position.

Cons

Virtually no chance of a raise (worked here four years, and have only gotten a very small inflation adjustment), and very little diversity in student body and faculty/staff. Once you have honed your skills, you will need to move on to another institution as upward mobility is virtually non-existent, except for the lucky few.

Pros

I work as a remote, adjunct professor of social work. The department is great and supportive. I really enjoy working there.

Cons

Being remote leaves me a bit less connected to other faculty, but their monthly meetings really help with this.

Pros

It’s pretty decent working here. Schedule is fairly flexible work is pretty light. Do your job and it should go smoothly!

Cons

20 hour a week cap due to university policy.
