Pros

This is a good district for less experienced and ACP teachers. The district provides a vast amount of professional development. Turnover is so high that patience may yield more desirable results or a promotion in short order.

Cons

Very high turnover, poor management regarding student discipline, racial/ethnic tension among students and faculty alike. 30+ classes are a norm, and you will teach 6 of 7 periods unless things changed in the last year. North Houston is increasingly overrun by gang activity and that trickles down into less affluent schools such as those in Spring ISD. Dekaney is the most troubled campus, but Spring HS, is also an under-performing campus.

Pros

Staff and employees are kind and easy to work with.

Cons

Limited opportunities to move up, unexciting with little to learn or apply, very slow salary progression, and infrequent, minuscule raises. Also, increasing premiums for health insurance eating up most of your wage.
