Pros
The pay scale not too bad
Cons
The cons outweighs the pros by far. I was told by multiple people not to go to this district, but I needed a job at the time. The district is terribly unorganized and Prof Dev is thrown together. The elementary that I was at, the principal quit mid-year leaving us with an over-bearing admin doling out extra duties and work to the teachers. The campus where I was also had an extreme amount of drama from the students, parents and teachers. Some of the teachers were actual professionals and some of the best I’ve ever seen. Some were bullies and I was actually bullied by a teacher who slammed a door on my hand. Do yourself a favor and avoid this district at all costs. My entire team was trying to quit and find jobs in other districts when I resigned. Ironically, one teammate (15 yrs in Spring) has been trying to leave Spring for years. I believe Spring has such a terrible reputation that it has hurt her chances in finding employment elsewhere despite her multiple attempts. Believe every negative thing you’ve heard about this district because it is true. I’ve worked in 5 other districts and in Spring, the parents are demanding, rude and difficult. Spring tried to placate them by bowing down and giving them every thing they want. This does not work, it creates adult-type helpless children who further treat teachers as babysitters and not the trained professionals that they are. On top of it, the paperwork is unlike anything that you’ve ever seen. It’s extremely excessive and adds to the pressure of an already stressful job. Avoid this district at all cost!
