Fast-paced environment with opportunities to build customer service skills. Coworkers on the floor were generally supportive and easy to work with.

Management style leans heavily toward micromanaging rather than trusting staff to do their jobs. There is a noticeable double standard in how rules are enforced - some employees are given latitude that others aren't, which creates a culture of favoritism rather than consistency. Head cashiers have a lot of influence over daily shifts, and that influence was often applied inconsistently - who got the better shifts, or treatment seemed to depend more on personal favoritism than performance. There's age-based differential treatment, which made the environment uncomfortable at times.
