Pros
-Great opportunities in some entry level positions: They gave me projects previously slated for upper positions, allowed me to experience more than other companies would in a short time -Was considered and encouraged to apply for upper positions less after less than 2 years after being with the department (I left after my 2 year mark) -Insane benefits that make you stay longer than you probably would have: great salary, 5% to 7% retirement matching after 1 year of work, free insurance as long as you make under $35k, semi-inexpensive graduate school
Cons
-Added responsibility=more stress and work -Did work originally meant for a $10k higher salary -Worked over 40hrs/week with no overtime or legitimate comp time -Upper management in non-academic departments seemed to consider themselves better than lower employees
