Pros

During my time with the company so far, I had the opportunity to work alongside some incredibly talented individuals, including leadership, who are deeply committed to innovation and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in engineering. While there are challenges, especially around balancing multiple large-scale projects, the ambition and drive to deliver cutting-edge products is what sets it apart from most other companies. Standard Bots is not a place to rest and vest, its not a large tech company that coddles its employees. Making good products (hardware and software) is hard work and is not for everyone. One of the most valuable aspects of working here is the variety of high-impact projects. The fast-paced environment allowed me to grow quickly, learn new skills, and work in areas outside of my expertise. I was often encouraged to think creatively and offer input. I also admired the company’s dedication to building custom solutions, even when it meant taking the road less traveled. There’s a strong belief in creating tailored products that set the company apart, which was inspiring to be a part of. This level of commitment to excellence—while sometimes demanding—showed the leadership’s passion for delivering unique solutions to customers. Though there were times when the company had to make tough decisions or adapt quickly to shifting priorities, I appreciated the leadership's efforts to respond dynamically to the market. And while managing a large portfolio of projects can be complex, I respect the vision to build multiple, impactful initiatives at once, even when it requires constant adaptation. High-growth companies need to stay nimble and focused in the face of rapidly changing circumstances. If folks on the team are taking much longer to finish tasks or projects, leadership tries to understand why and offer help. You cannot make a significant dent in robotics without a sense of urgency, good communication and

Cons

This fast paced, changing environment is not for the faint of heart. If you are used to a slow, relaxed cadence with ever extending deadlines and no accountability this is probably not going to be your cup of tea.

Pros

Inflection point in physical AI especially in US based Robotics Small but bright teams solving the problems of tomorrow Great benefits and culture that supports flexibility Opportunity for impact in robotics. Team is only 120+ and growing based on demand and product reputation Product market fit is established and sales are great!

Cons

Less structured than most companies. You have to be comfortable with little to no process and need to be excited about bring solutions instead of just problems to leadership.

Pros

I actually worked with Standard Bots as a client for about three years before deciding to join full-time, so I already knew how special the team and mission were. Getting the chance to come in-house just made me even more excited and it’s been awesome to see things up close. This is an early-stage startup, so things move fast. There’s a lot to figure out and not a ton of structure — that’s part of the fun. We’re mostly remote, which comes with a ton of trust from leadership. You’re expected to own your work and figure things out — nobody’s looking over your shoulder. The talent bar is really high, especially on the software side. The interview process is definitely longer and tougher than most startups, but that’s how we’ve ended up with such a strong engineering team. You get to work with people who are really good at what they do. You’ve got to be okay with constant change and not a lot of direction. That’s just startup life. But if you like autonomy and problem-solving, you’ll thrive here. The CEO is super accessible, genuinely smart, and passionate about robotics/automation/AI. He’s also a family guy, which seems to make him more empathetic and grounded than most startup founders I’ve met. 2026 is going to be a big year — feels like we’re gearing up for hyper growth. Overall, hang on tight. It’s a wild ride, but I’m loving it and excited for what’s ahead.

Cons

If you prefer predictability, a slower pace, or lots of guidance, this probably isn’t the right environment. It’s best suited for self-starters who enjoy chaos and problem-solving. There’s a lot to do and not enough people yet — typical startup story. Everyone wears multiple hats, which can be both exciting and exhausting.
