Pros

In the Children's service department you work with some of the best people. Social workers mostly. If you like and upbeat and busy environment, this would be the place for you. Never boring if you can handle hearing about abuse and neglect. Social workers are awesome.

Cons

Social workers are awesome however many young social workers right out of college so there is still that high school/college vibe. Lots of rumors and gossip. Lots of drama at times. Advice...just stay out of it!

Pros

Decent pay, most attorneys work hard on their cases, good benefits

Cons

Heavy caseload, in court most of the day, insufficient office time to work cases so expect to regularly work at home evenings and weekends. No time for a personal life. High turnover, difficult for them to recruit & retain experienced attorneys so the experienced attorneys get dumped on. High stress job. 20+ attorneys quit in past 3 years. Plan on stress meds if you work here.
