Pros

It was a good part time job to have while in school. Everyone was extremely flexible with my schedule which included days that I had to have off and emergencies that came up at the last minute. My work was relatively simple and I also got to cross train in other areas which in my opinion gives you the opportunity to advance quickly. With knowledge on how everything works you receive more responsibility. The training was pretty through as well as learning about the company culture. It was also a bonus not to have to pay for a uniform.

Cons

The pay is horrendous. There is no way you could actually survive on Staples hourly pay even working full time with out another job....which most of the other associates had other jobs as well. The benefits weren't that great as well. Even though they offered health care to part timers, it wasn't the best care out there so you could save your money. There is no company discount. So matter what you really never are compensated for purchasing your own brand. The rewards program for employees starts 90 days after date of hire which means the small discount your allowed to have once every couple of months.....you don't even start earning until after your 90th day.
