Pros

Starting compensation as a new grad/entry level sales person

Cons

When you start at this job you are selling an office supply membership called "Premium," which has no place in the market. Price point for this membership exceeds the financial means of what sized companies are available to target as a result of too many reps going after same territory (at least in NY). Unfair advantage given to older reps who hoard leads that they don't even pursue while newer reps are left scraping for leads that are big enough to even fit what the program is useful for. If management doesn't like you they will actually take leads that you own and move them to reps that they favor more highly. Most reps actively participating in questionable business practices to close business (encouraged by management), so if you're not down with exaggerating the capabilities of the service, you might not cut it. Once businesses sign on with the membership, many issues arise with delivery, marketing services and overall functionality, which can make you look bad as a salesperson and definitely demotivate you. Not a "people-first" company. Management and Director are obsessed with Premium and after a while it gets unbearable to eat, sleep and breathe trying to sell something that is useless and you can't even believe in as a logical salesperson. Definitely the worst work experience I have ever had.

Pros

You will acquire genuinely useful AR and account management skills including Oracle, MS Office, customer support, reporting, and general O2C fundamentals. These skills will help you in future roles and look good on a résumé. To be transparent: those skills will come in handy when you’re searching for a new job later — because based on team conditions, you’ll likely be looking again within a year.

Cons

The Escalation Specialist role was originally part of the Center of Excellence (COE) and fully remote. It is no longer remote. Management relies heavily on weekly “validation” scorecards to evaluate performance. These scorecards often feel subjective and based more on opinion than actual workload, metrics, or demonstrated knowledge. They do not accurately reflect your true performance or skill level. Recognition tends to go to the same small group of individuals (primarily within Vendor Management), even though the Specialists are responsible for the majority of the day‑to‑day work and issue resolution. This creates an uneven sense of visibility and appreciation across the team. You deserve better!
