Pros
Staples is a great company to work for, they do take care of their employees and there is room for advancement. When you wake up everyday to go to a retail job, and you don't grunt and grumble like some of the cashiers or employees at other retailers, you realize that it is a great company. Yes, there is a lot of pressure on pushing numbers, and with the economy it can be a little harder to close the sale, but when the day is over, your proud of what you do, and Staples is there to help you grow as a professional.
Cons
It is a retail job, so you do have some difficult customers on a day to day basis that need to be dealt with accordingly. You have to make strong ethics decisions in which you need to go by terms and conditions on coupons, sales, corporate policies etcetera, but at the same time, you do have to also make sure you never say no to a customer and that they leave happy. The easiest way is to show them other options and hopefully it works out for them and you, otherwise you've tried everything and you just need to manager to maybe bend the rules a little bit, or set a boundary with the customer.
