Pros
They hire very talented individuals.
Cons
Reviewing my role in the commercial furniture sales division: Staples cuts full product divisions without notice. Hundreds left with no insurance, no commission payouts for work completed when they layoffs occur, at the drop of a hat. Watch out around holidays because that's when layoffs happen most often and reorganization and demotion occurs frequently without any explanation as to why. They hire great people only to leave them with constant changes to account lists. There are tons of non-sensical metrics you have to meet in order to receive a commission payout. This is a heavy internal meetings based organization with tons of repeated mandated trainings that unfortunately cuts into time with clients. It's not as much Staples management to look out for (some are good some are bad). What you have to look out for is the private equity firm that owns Staples. They are ruthless.
