Pros
Hey, it's a job with a steady paycheck. Most of the associates are hardworkers and great people. The 401k and stock option are great benefits.
Cons
You can forget bonuses or raises. You can expect that the managers will tell you to do the exact opposite of what each other said, then scream at you for not doing both. You will be screamed at for everything and anything. You will be talked over, talked down to, or talked about negatively. You will be considered expendable and treated as such. You will be blamed for incidences that you had nothing to do with, because management will never take the blame for anything. You will be expected to sell service plans that have so many clauses that 99% of the time will not cover the customer's purchase. You will be the one to tell the customer that their purchase is not covered. You will get no support from management when the customer complains. The health benefits are only so-so. They do not take pride in having long-term dedicated employees. Money and profit are the bottom line and they will gladly get rid of a veteran employee with more experience to hire more unexperienced ones. Staples does not care about their employees and will NOT listen to them. Staples does not care about their customers and will NOT listen to them.
