Pros
At this point, I can't say that I believe there are any Pros of working for Staples. I watched all of the good leadership the company had get forced out either for stopping shoplifting or not adhering to modern, anti-business corporate behavior. I've watched everyone at a store be fired by corporate with many of us being blacklisted for "theft" when theft was not taking place by our staff.
Cons
I've worked for Staples on and off since 2011. In that time I've watched the company go from wanting to do every single job they took at the copy and print center in store unless we were literally unable to do the work and do that work in a calculated and reasonable turn around time to having every job over 1000 copies sent out to staples design services. Originally the self serve area was an area for rush customers that just wanted to do the work themselves, but we still encouraged them to allow us to do the work and make sure it's a painless and quick process that they could be confident in the results of; now self serve is the suggested go-to for customers at the counter, all jobs over 1000 copies or $100 are sent to SDS, all jobs have a minimum turn around of 24 hours unless an express fee is charged. There's nothing good about what staples has become especially with the copy and print department. Unfortunately this is the trend of most corporate copy and print shops these days and reasonable turn around for quick work costs and arm and a leg when it should be quick, cheap, and easy while you wait.
