Pros
1. Benefits really are amazing. Random baristas aren't just saying that to you while you wait for them to top your mocha...it's true. 2. I love people, and boy do people visit Starbucks. I see between 250-400 people a day during a full shift. That's a ton of people to talk to - and I am loud and love to talk! 3. You really can drink all the drinks your body can handle, gratis. Every single day. No questions asked, no restrictions, totally, insanely free. 4. If you don't have a lot of education, you can still absolutely manage a store or rise into another position with time.
Cons
1. As so many people have already said, the store managers typically have no idea what they are doing. That really sucks for their employees. 2. It is so hard to get time off....or even leave work on time. I earn $13 an hour - that is not enough to keep me at work from 5am to, I dunno, say 2, 2:44, I dunno, whenever you finish the dishes. 3:12. No. And try asking off for time with family at Thanksgiving or Christmas - not going to happen. 3. You end up working with a host of interchangeable, immature, sluggish, careless and very temporary coworkers. Which is super hard on those of us who really want our company to do well.
