Pros

401k, health, dental, vision insurance. Small bonus based on auto growth and performance.. Small cafeteria on sight. Air conditioned building with running water.

Cons

Employees have completely stripped of having a work-life balance. No room for emergencies or unscheduled events. If you don’t give 24 hour notice you will get points. Vacation request are done almost a year in advance. Monday and or Friday are taken for the year unless your manager will override a day. This makes a person feel trapped - you can’t have an unexpected occurrence happen or you get points. Employees come to work sick, postpone surgeries and dr appts, miss school events, etc. a co-worker was involved in a car accident and got points because she was late to work. Long term employees are taking sizable pay cuts to work at other insurance companies. That should tell the company something. The company doesn’t care. They rather pay newbies a smaller salary, or independents. Customer service is slipping and customers are leaving. Unless you want every minute of your day micro-managed and work at a sinking ship, I suggest going somewhere else.

Pros

(At the time) Fair pay and predictable bonus structure They were pretty good at covering travel expenses and paying them back quickly Diverse workforce & diversity initiatives Fun and funny coworkers Opportunities for growth Again, this was all four years ago and has likely changed

Cons

(At the time and now, according to other comments) Arrogant to a fault Total lack of innovation & willingness to innovate Odd attachment to the company's past (which prevents progress) High number of veterans (20+ years) who are determined to get that retirement money, and therefore, are resistant to change and technology Heavy reliance on command and control management style Poor decision-making that leads to losses of all kinds
