Pros

Nothing really maybe the Benefits

Cons

I been at State Farm for a year now, This is the worst company I ever worked for, I can't wait to leave! This job will cause you so much anxiety & depression, I work in the Auto ILR claims, To be honest it's not the customer, I actually enjoy helping others & speaking with customers. It's the management team, State Farm has a huge turn over rate, people quit all the time. State Farm don't care about their employees, State Farm is a well known brand they easily replace staff every month instead of fixing the issue the cycle repeats. Be prepared for micromanagement, The manager are able to record step by step when working in a claim, coaching every week in front of peers over petty stuff that doesn't effect your work, high loads of work with a low pay. You also receive pointless feedback from anonymous staff who then CC your manager, I feel like a enemy when I clock in, it's a War zone, The manager expects high expectations from staff who spends 10hrs a day talking to customers who are in a tragic situation, The metrics you will never meet, The work schedule sucks you must participate in a mandatory bid for your schedule, Let's not forget twice a year when your schedule changes so does your manager and the whole team, You can go from working 7am-4pm to 3pm-overnight. There's nothing you can do about the scheduling. Working in the claims department you don't feel appreciated, No matter how hard you work and be there everyday in the management eyes you're never good enough.

Pros

(At the time) Fair pay and predictable bonus structure They were pretty good at covering travel expenses and paying them back quickly Diverse workforce & diversity initiatives Fun and funny coworkers Opportunities for growth Again, this was all four years ago and has likely changed

Cons

(At the time and now, according to other comments) Arrogant to a fault Total lack of innovation & willingness to innovate Odd attachment to the company's past (which prevents progress) High number of veterans (20+ years) who are determined to get that retirement money, and therefore, are resistant to change and technology Heavy reliance on command and control management style Poor decision-making that leads to losses of all kinds
