Pros

Good Benefits and nothing else really

Cons

Are you ready to work for a company that doesn't care about anyone at the associate and specialist level!?!? Are you ready for your four weeks PTO - but can't step away from your desk for 2 minutes because the work never stops coming and your manager is whipping you to chase metrics like a slave driver. Then State Farm is the place for you! Come to the company where the CEO asked for feedback from the enterprise and got put on blast by EVERYONE (except the bootlickers at corporate) and his response was, "suck it up buttercup." Come to the place where you hear your boss tell a colleague, who has given 30 years to a company, "This might not be the right job for you." Because they aren't reaching the ever increasing arbitrary metrics. Come to the place where you see constant turnover because State Farm can't realize that people want to have a work/life balance. Come to the place of false promises and dead dreams. Come to the place with a toxic work culture. Come to the place where everyone is miserable and experienced people are leaving dail and they are just looking for warm bodies to sit in seats and answer phones. Do yourself a favor. Pick a different company. If you come to state farm...come for just a moment. get experience and get out of here as soon as you recieve another offer. Everyone else does. I came to State Farm 3 years ago. Of my class of 30 specialists there are 3 left. REMARKABLE!

Pros

(At the time) Fair pay and predictable bonus structure They were pretty good at covering travel expenses and paying them back quickly Diverse workforce & diversity initiatives Fun and funny coworkers Opportunities for growth Again, this was all four years ago and has likely changed

Cons

(At the time and now, according to other comments) Arrogant to a fault Total lack of innovation & willingness to innovate Odd attachment to the company's past (which prevents progress) High number of veterans (20+ years) who are determined to get that retirement money, and therefore, are resistant to change and technology Heavy reliance on command and control management style Poor decision-making that leads to losses of all kinds
