Pros
It is a company you can grow up with and 90% of my friends are those that I met at the Farm more than 25 years ago! There can be a lot of opportunity if you take continuing education courses. I also had great work/life balance.
Cons
Low pay. Stagnant career growth if you don’t take insurance courses, requiring you to study on your own time. Glass ceiling. Small raises if you get a raise at all; I did not get one for 9 years although I received good performance reviews. I took the voluntary severance and ran. I have multiple degrees, a wealth of knowledge and experience, and several certifications and after 4 months of unemployment I earned 20k more at another company. Less than a year after leaving the company, I earn 33k more. If the CEO left, I’d go back in a heartbeat. It is not the same company it once was, and that’s not a good thing.
