Pros

The culture at State Street was very positive compared to other organizations. It has an interesting mix of high performance groups/ individuals and run of the mill. There are plenty of internal opportunities and generally plenty of job growth potential in most areas you find yourself in.

Cons

While the size is a pro the size can also be a con. Unless you are senior enough you can find yourself so low in the hierarchy that you may not have a Adsense of the vision for the group/ business or the organization. To this I'd say management does a respectable job of messaging to keep everyone involved. It is on you and your immediate manager to keep you involve.

State Street Response

Thank you for sharing your comments. I’m glad you enjoyed flexibility in your role while working at State Street. More than three-quarters of our employees tell us they have some type of flexible work arrangement. Along with workplace flexibility, we know that competitive benefits are also very important to our employees. Our 2017 benefits package now includes an additional four weeks of paid leave for new parents, two-days of paid time off to volunteer and paid leave to care for a sick family member. We also just launched a program to help with the college admissions process and offer a wellness program with employee incentives for health and wellness activities. If you’d like to learn more, you can access State Street’s list of benefits on our website under About > Join the Team. -Julie Haskell, MD, Global Inclusion
