Pros

The company is expanding through increased business. Stable organization.

Cons

Communication and shared knowledge to lower level staff is almost non-existent. There is no need to keep the institutional knowledge with the “chosen few”. There is also need to diversify upper management. It reeks of “All White Boys Club”.

Thank you for your feedback. One of the most important parts of State Street’s culture is to have a diverse and inclusive workforce. This provides our company with a variety of perspectives to draw from as we innovate, engage, constructively debate, and create our Way Ahead. State Street is making great strides and I have seen a lot of positive changes over the last few years to promote diversity and an inclusive culture. For example, we now have a Chief Diversity Officer who is championing diversity across our company, especially at the senior management level. As you might have heard during our last town hall meeting with Jay, State Street has delivered on our diversity goals; I believe that we, as a company will continue to champion diversity. I encourage you to view a recording of Jay’s town hall to learn more about how we are doing. You should also reach out to our colleagues in the Global Inclusion and Diversity Office to find out more about initiatives being carried out to promote diversity and inclusion at State Street. -Thierry Yungenge, Assistant Vice President, Leadership Development Program

Pros

Own book runner and strategy. Good work life balance. Good working environment and nice people to work together

Cons

No much growth. Promotion to VP or higher is even forbidden based on company policy. Instead, ask people to move to different role. It doesn't make a lot of sense since it encourage people to find a new job.

Pros

They offer resources for learning.

Cons

In my previous roles I've never felt burnout but with this one is the first I was feeling crush. I don't think managers take time to structure the tasks on a 8hrs or 10hrs per day. There are a lot of unrealistic expectations, no work-life balance at all. Even if you made the sacrifice to stay late, you will not be done with the work for the day.
