Pros

- They'll take fresh college grads even in this economy - Pays the bills (assuming you live the life of a hermit) and has decent benefits - Gives you a reason to get up in the morning

Cons

- Meritocricy means nothing, seniority takes precedence over competence, initiative, and preformance in considerations for bonuses and promotions - You WILL be managed by people who are clearly incompetent/stupid/insecure, and have been there for ages since they literally have no where else to go, and they know that - Easy to be stuck in the back office trap, especially when most people around you have no ambition to do anything else and actually think they are "playing the corporate game" - The work is basically glorified data entry, and future employers know that

Pros

Own book runner and strategy. Good work life balance. Good working environment and nice people to work together

Cons

No much growth. Promotion to VP or higher is even forbidden based on company policy. Instead, ask people to move to different role. It doesn't make a lot of sense since it encourage people to find a new job.

Pros

They offer resources for learning.

Cons

In my previous roles I've never felt burnout but with this one is the first I was feeling crush. I don't think managers take time to structure the tasks on a 8hrs or 10hrs per day. There are a lot of unrealistic expectations, no work-life balance at all. Even if you made the sacrifice to stay late, you will not be done with the work for the day.
