Pros
Met some amazing people. Pay was livable once you work your butt off to get there. Decent PTO and benefits.
Cons
Constant lay-offs, even for employees who’ve been with them for years. Extremely disorganized, with miscommunications and lack of oversight at both an immediate and corporate level. No way further up unless you literally steal someone else’s job. Higher-ups don’t know what they want, meaning both content and scope are constantly changing to fit their “pet projects.” An overload of brands with managers/editors spread thin across websites, meaning a lack of focus, especially on sites that don’t publish trending content on any given week. Buys up every old, dying website that they can without a clear or at least well-communicated plan. Clickbait-heavy content mill with an unabashed propensity for misleading readers/viewers (to the point of outright lying). I could go on and on and on.
