Cons

The people. Especially management.Production manager here is a compulsive liar. Tells so many he don't know what's going on. Plant manager does everything he tells him to. Can't keep good help because of it. Production manager tells everyone he gonna give them a raise. He can't even give raises. You not gonna get one anyway if u not in his little group of friends. I been here over a year have had two promotion's and no raise. The medical insurance is no good. High mark blue Cross blue shield

Pros

Work hours are well balanced, and it is fairly stress free. Managers seem to care and they do not give you grief about taking time off, whether it is for vacation or not. Pay is comparable to other manufacturing, non-professional office type work. Steady work load with little down time.

Cons

I'm not able to speak for other positions, but for mine, I honestly don't have anything negative to say. I have worked for other employers in this area that were much worse to work for than Stella-Jones. I will say that the "corporate mind-set" does show up from time to time, and it can be frustrating, but that is pretty common this day and age, so it isn't really a Stella-Jones specific issue.
