Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. There seems to be a misunderstanding, however, on the structure of the work week for our Planner/Dispatcher positions. Stevens Transport is responsible for the movement of refrigerated / time-sensitive freight. In order to fulfill the needs of the public, Stevens, as well as almost every other major carrier, need dedicated staff on site 24 hours a day. Most of the employees in operations hold salaried positions, and that salary is calculated to include the extended scheduled the planners are responsible for. These hours are not unpaid, as your salary is based on that level of need for the company and explained in advance during the hiring process. This type of schedule is fairly standard for this position in the industry, and not unique to Stevens. I am sorry to hear that you did not find yourself a candidate for advancement. We have recently implemented a new performance appraisal tool which will help us to identify the employees, like you, who are hungry for new opportunities! We have also begun a leadership development program for existing leaders, and those who wish to advance in order to prepare them for the next step even before the position is open! Stevens does have a unique opportunity for those who wish to advance, as we have centralized operations and if an opportunity presents itself, you will not have to uproot your family and move to another terminal to take it! Please email us at feedback@stevenstransport.com to discuss your advice to management, and any other improvements that we can make. We wish you the very best for the future!

Pros

You get to see the country

Cons

Bad communication, unrealistic expectations, lying recruiters, poor driver management, loopholes to get out of paying you for anything, safety rules go too far and prevent you from properly driving, some safety rules actually make it more unsafe to drive the truck, pay is not accurate, no real opportunities to make it home if you dont live near a drop zone.
